DESCRIPTION
Solar Flare is a suspended sculpture designed to choreograph and harness the movement of the sun. Composed of interlocking acrylic forms floating above a garden canopy, the sculpture acts as a refractor that transforms and reflects Vietnam’s intense coastal sunlight into a field of iridescent colors. The work is never static, evolving throughout the day in response to wind, weather, and the changing position of the sun. As light passes through the dichroic surfaces, it fractures into a spectrum of multicolored "flares" that dance across leaves, branches, and garden paths.

Rather than existing apart from its surroundings, Solar Flare depends upon them. The sculpture treats the garden as an active participant, using its surfaces, textures, and movement as a canvas for light. In the tropical climate of central Vietnam, where sunlight is both abundant and ever-changing, the work reveals light not as a fixed condition but as a living material, continuously reshaped by natural rhythms and the passage of time.
